Nikita Bier posted that he spent a weekend feeding land and soil surveys, Zillow data, and satellite photos into AI tools to generate renovation concepts for a hillside property. He described the outputs as basically construction-ready and said this reduces the need for intermediaries. Architects and builders replied on the platform that the designs fall short of construction standards, citing gaps in professional liability, soil report interpretation, and total project costs. One architect called the claim exhausting. Others noted the exploratory process can still be realistic for homeowners who later bring in specialists.

the fantasy of the "construction-ready" image is so powerful. obviously the AI has come a loooong way since 2022 but the inciting impulse remains.

  Exactly this. It can be a helpful planning tool, but info like SSURGO soils data is meant for large scale land analysis, and far from exact. A PE will be required, but even if they were not, it would make little sense to use AI to make million dollar decisions with tons of…

  @seanw_m What do u take issue with? AI will not be an architect any more than it will be Beethoven, but, it will eventually spit out complete buildable plan sets to check w a structural eng. most structures are already cookie cutter
