Bitchat reportedly removed from app stores in India

Two posts say Jack Dorsey-backed Bitchat, an offline messaging app that sends encrypted messages over Bluetooth mesh, was removed from Apple’s India App Store and is unavailable on Google Play in India. One post also claims its TestFlight version was removed and carriers blocked its website. That post attributes the removals to India’s IT Act Section 69A, citing an unspecified allegation of “illegal content.”
