Google DeepMind Launches Gemini Robotics ER 2
Google DeepMind researchers announce next-generation physical AI for humanoid robots.
Google DeepMind posted about Gemini Robotics ER 2, its next-generation physical AI model for humanoid robots. Employee accounts described it as delivering full-body intelligence and the most general humanoid capabilities shown so far. Demonstrations included 20 minutes of real-time tool kitting on an FR3 Duo robot with emergent recovery behaviors. Researchers noted advances in multi-fingered hand dexterity over prior gripper systems and support for simultaneous planning and execution. A linked Google blog states the model marks a step change in video understanding, tool orchestration, and multi-robot collaboration.
