@leeloumt This month. At google i/o they said June as far as I remember

@tenobrus I think they have a slower release cycle maybe. I mean it's openai and anthropic who are a bit crazy here

@tenobrus start selling compute and go the way of the grok

@tenobrus I seriously think they're waiting for OpenAI to respond to Claude so they can go mog all of them with their TPS

@kimmonismus I would be very surprised if it can compete with Fable, or even if it can compete with GPT-5.5.

@kimmonismus When did they say its coming?

@tenobrus Just dmed a gdm friend this lol

@tenobrus who?

@kimmonismus I hope it is better then Fable 5.

@tenobrus I literally wasn't even sure what the current models they've launched are

@kimmonismus tbh I get the vibe Google doesn’t care about having the “best” coding models and will leave that to anthropic, I could be wrong but idk

@tenobrus preview until 3.6 is out

@tenobrus They don't want to release it until it's number 1 but that's probably impossible now.

@kimmonismus I reckon it will compete with GPT5.5 and Opus 4.8 but not newer models

My guess it, model itself will be solid, say opus 4.8 adjecent, but google harnesses will be crap as usual and nobody will bother using it with 3rd party harnesses due to api price being too expensive compared to alternatives. I.e DOA
guess some big enterprise clients will spend some $ on it tho since they like getting one big invoice if they already use google for other things

@kimmonismus Yes, but seeing the price of Gemini 3.5 Flash, I'm worried for the pro price

@tenobrus someone called it the poor man ai and I ran away crying

@kimmonismus The way OpenAI and Anthropic are positioning themselves, for enterprise and developers, Google only really need to be for the people. There's really no other eager competition for that market.

@tenobrus tbf they had good run, I would be more than okay if they didn't chased SOTA and keep iterating at their pace while improving integration into their core products

@kimmonismus In my opinion, Google should release GA models quickly instead of just preview versions, continuously refining them to stay competitive, lowering costs, and incorporating advanced agentic coding capabilities.
