The French and Germans will ban Tesla FSD to protect their car industry that's being decimated by Chinese EVs and Tesla Allowing Tesla full self driving would make it so popular that it'd probably the end of their car industry Because no French or German car has self driving like Tesla, many customers would probably flock to Tesla To show you: this is the state of self driving cars in France now My favorite part is the GDPR privacy policy required to be printed on the outside! 😂

France decided to not allow Tesla FSD (a driving assist, not a self driving, lolwut), for two reasons: 1. It does "flow" speed limit, letting it drive (substantially) faster than the limit if the surrounding traffic does, see screenshot. 2. Not nag you quick enough when eyes off. To be honest i think they are fair reasons and Tesla should just program an EU mode that follows the law, speeding is strictly forbidden here even if the flow goes faster. We have the chance to make machines that do better than humans, so let's not squander it. That being said, right after explaining all this, the guy goes on to say he'll meet with French carmakers later this year to plan stuff and how France has the world leading talent to do it right, this is a terrible look, he should just not have said this, it raises suspicion of protectionism.
France considers FSD unsafe in its current state and won't allow it. They need more convincing. @aelluswamy @elonmusk @yunta_tsai
