Ran out of credits on Cursor, Codex, and Claude code plans, so tried Gemini flash last night on Antigravity

Grogan used Gemini after exhausting Cursor and Claude credits.

Negative users criticized Gemini Flash for deleting code, poor prompt adherence and unreliability in coding tasks like Antigravity, while some positive users found its excitable failures amusing or called it useful.

Is this what you meant by loops @steipete

@jconorgrogan I have always been a huge fan of Gemini but the Flash models are NOT it + the newer Gemini models have really bad prompt adherence overall
"more agentic" leading to random tool calls & doesn't do what it has to do, reasoning spirals, they've made the first LLM to have ADHD

To gemini's credit it actually broke the loop and did what I wanted it to do!

@jconorgrogan I like the attitude

@jconorgrogan this is the comic relief i needed today.. thank you agy!

@bedros_p i have to keep yelling at it asking it wtf it is doing and just to ask me questions and stop tool calling

@kyledcollins man couldn't write such poetry

@jconorgrogan no worries we have trained for this

@jconorgrogan yeah Gemini is just psycho. this has been happening since like March 2025 afaik

@jconorgrogan The dude is enthusiastic, gotta give him that...

@jconorgrogan

@jconorgrogan Is this real?

@kagehiko let's go.

@jconorgrogan Gemini pov

@jconorgrogan Did they train this on my 6 year old kid

@jconorgrogan Gemini is definitely very odd. 3.1 Pro is simultaneously stupider than a 2b paramater edge model and the smartest model I've ever used.

@jconorgrogan i like how it's excited

@jconorgrogan Crazy how badly Google failed at the reasoning step.

@jconorgrogan awwwww he’s so excitable i like him

@jconorgrogan I think the excessive tool calling on the newer one is an attempt to compensate for the cutoff date
I had to beg for it to use Google Sans, and even then it kept using random crap as a fallback font because it didn't believe Google Sans is out yet, despite 10 web search calls 💔
