@daniel_271828 Chip advantage seems much more durable / relevant anyway, especially in the regime where AI R&D is automated so relevant labor is commoditized.
We've grown numb, but it bears repeating that American theory of victory *has total near term obsolescence of Americans as its core assumption*. The whole idea is that in a few months of a gap where American meat bags are irrelevant and the Chinese are not yet, Victory happens.

This is a very dreary timeline Basically Americans concede that they "deserve" to lose as in would have lost in any pre-AGI scenario, but luckily they're ahead on the self-obsolescence schedule so their machines will bail them out
