Waymo reportedly plans to quintuple its fleet to 20,000 cars by the end of 2027

Waymo is looking to grow its fleet from 4,000 cars to 20,000 by the end of 2027, Semafor reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The company is targeting 8,000 cars by the end of 2026 and plans to use the $5 billion it recently borrowed to expand. Waymo declined to comment on the report. The New York Post reports Waymo ordered thousands of Chinese-built vehicles, raising security concerns among US lawmakers.
