Jane Street and Hudson River Trading reportedly ramp up AI computing capacity

Jane Street has a Texas data center and a $1 billion CoreWeave stake paired with a $6 billion compute-spending pledge, Bloomberg reports. Hudson River Trading uses a Norwegian data center and cloud contracts; its AI head, Iain Dunning, puts annual AI spending at $1 billion. Firms are also backing chipmakers, but Bloomberg warns that rising costs and potentially short-lived advantages cloud the payoff.
