Expect me to not shut up for a little bit now about cultural institutions building.
During the past 10 years I have learned SO MUCH!
I need to tell the world because we need many many more of this! Many more Interintellects!
You know guys, I was so busy building I didn’t even notice this institution we just happened to build! And it’s working, it’s teaching, it’s convening, it’s preserving culture. You look up and it’s there.
You can just do things.

I think there should be new cultural institutions.
My way of helping has been to build one!
The future will be surprising. But people craving culture and each other's company, new ideas and new friends, never changes.

People who understand cultural change-building know it is not about humanities vs STEM, East vs West Coast, US vs the rest, or even human vs AI.
That is just short-term marketing.
What cultural institutions run on is time + trust.
It takes a long time to prove to a public there is sustainable, ongoing (1) quality, (2) taste, and (3) community around a new organization.
Some areas of Silicon Valley and the media don't like the t-axis at all, they don't like history, they don't understand how it works. But for culture, everything is about history: you build, you preserve, you educate, and you parse for the future. It's an arc, and we're all walking it.
This is why we do it. And this is *how* we do it.

We now have @interintellect_ folks who have been coming to our salons consistently for ... 7+ years!
So beautiful to see all the familiar faces return for more conversation, curiosity, learning, friendship.
Cultural institution building requires time. And time turns into gold.
