Still have not seen the direct translation of RSI (递归自我改进, if you read the state media's recent piece on RSI) having huge uptake in China. I think a closer concept is 自我进化 (Self-Evolving), which seems to be a lot more present in papers and speeches from Chinese labs, which also invites a lot of ambiguity, as it can sometimes mean continual learning or the actual AI building AI on other occasions. Again, Chinese labs don't need to know what RSI in the English discourse is to do RSI things.
