1:04 PM · Jul 15, 2026From an evolutionary dynamics standpoint, when there was a clear direction of market fitness (make model bigger / smarter), it made sense to have simply bigger singleton models like the big lab providers were offering The fitness function is not just intelligence though, it's customer ROI, and there the fitness landscape is flattening (several players equilbriating in terms of perf / dollar) When the landscape flattens, that's when more variance/speciation occurs. Customers will want custom RL'd models that give better perf per dollar over one huge expensive overkill model.
