Enterprise-browser company Island has raised $400 million at a $6.4 billion valuation, SecurityWeek reports. Evolution Equity Partners led the round, which pushes Island’s outside funding above $1 billion since the company launched in 2020.

CNBC reported that the Dallas- and Tel Aviv-based company plans to expand its workforce to roughly 1,500. The new valuation is up from nearly $5 billion in March 2025, when Island announced a $250 million Series E led by Coatue Management.

A browser built around corporate controls

Island sells a Chromium-based browser designed to give employers security and governance controls inside the application people use to access web services. Those controls can govern actions such as copying, pasting, downloading, uploading and taking screenshots, while also supporting data redaction, watermarking and authentication requirements.

The pitch is that companies can replace layers of virtual-desktop, network-access and endpoint tooling with policies enforced in the browser. That puts Island in competition not only with other enterprise-browser startups but also with business versions of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

Island said in 2025 that it served more than 450 enterprise customers. The latest funding gives it more capital to expand its product and sales organization as businesses try to control employee access to cloud software and generative-AI tools.
