Microsoft announces Copilot update with Autopilot, Code and embedded Office

On September 25, 2026, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced what he called Copilot’s biggest update yet, part of building a “new OS for work.” He outlined four main pieces: Autopilot, a proactive, long-running enterprise agent; Code, for building apps hosted inside a company’s tenant; Home, which combines Chat and Cowork; and Office fully embedded in Copilot. Nadella also said users can invoke Copilot in Teams, while the new Today experience is designed to surface important information from across Microsoft 365 without a prompt.
