MIT Paper Links Automation to Risk of Political Repression

@thesupermanmx posted that a Nobel-winning MIT economist published a paper titled Automation and Repression. The post states that AI and automation replace labor, concentrate wealth among capital owners, and drive inequality to the point of political repression. @davidclowery replied that the paper proved no such thing and that an AI-empowered socialist elite poses similar risks. @wingod compared the post to Luddite arguments and predicted an increase in creativity and productivity. @feelsdesperate called the idea libslop dystopianism and said elite academia should be shut down. @davetroy labeled the original post righteously stupid.
