Airtel Leads July Mobile Subscriber Additions
Telecom regulator data shows gains for major carriers as total subscriptions increase.
Airtel led July mobile subscriber additions with 26.9 lakh users while Jio added 24.5 lakh users. India's total telephone subscriber base rose by 6.20 million in July to reach 1.35 billion. This represents a monthly growth of 0.46 per cent as wireless and wireline connections both expanded. The figures come from TRAI data reported by Economic Times. Other operators including Vodafone Idea and BSNL recorded increases in their subscriber bases as well. Broadband and mobile subscriptions contributed to the overall rise in the country's telecom base.
