OpenAI reportedly plans to buy Google's AI chips

Techstrong.ai, citing The Information, reports that OpenAI plans to buy Google's tensor processing units, or TPUs. OpenAI already rents Google chips and remains a major buyer of Nvidia GPUs. It is also developing its own Jalapeno processors with Broadcom. OpenAI and Google declined to comment on the prospective deal, whose financial terms remain undisclosed.
