my prediction is that the desire to build safe, reliable, trustworthy, consistent, cost effective AI products and services will force this upon us... but between now and then an AI ideology will fight the real AI economics.
the AI ideology will say that evolution and natural selection are the dominant forces driving AI... and the AI economy will say that capitalism and free market competition to create value for people for the lowest price is the dominant force... imo the latter will win
and at the moment - the former is largely represented by closed source and the latter by open source - but that will blend soon too. in part because cloud providers prefer the latter ... and cloud will win that fight
the former is also AI centric AI... and the latter is human-centric AI. So if you're human... I recommend favoring the latter. It should win and it will win. And that's good.
the strongest argument against what i've said above is that when LLMs are trained more on sensor data instead of people... that it will no longer be a mirror
this is a deeply, deeply exceptional argument. i'll think on it and write more some other time.
