The same report said subscriptions remained the company’s main engine. According to Inc42’s post, subscriptions contributed ₹1,475.4 Cr, accounting for more than 99% of operating revenue.
That concentration helps explain both the company’s reported turnaround and the shape of its business heading into a public listing. If those figures hold, Kuku Technologies is leaning overwhelmingly on paid subscriptions rather than a broader mix of revenue streams.
Expenses also climbed sharply
The improvement in EBITDA did not come with lower spending. Inc42 said total expenses jumped 3.5X to ₹1,421.8 Cr, led by a nearly 4X increase in marketing and advertising spend to ₹1,105.1 Cr.
That detail matters because it suggests the company’s path toward IPO is not just a story about cleaner margins. It is also spending heavily to grow, particularly on customer acquisition and promotion.
IPO plans are still reported plans
Per Inc42’s reporting, the stronger profitability comes ahead of Kuku Technologies’ proposed IPO, after SEBI approved its listing plans. The company is also reportedly targeting a ₹2,500–3,500 Cr IPO.
Inc42 added that Kuku Technologies plans to use the money for technology, AI infrastructure, content production, and geographic expansion. For now, though, that remains the reported plan tied to a still-proposed offering, not a completed listing.
What stands out most in the current snapshot is the combination of a reported EBITDA turnaround, a subscription-heavy revenue base, and sharply higher marketing costs. That gives potential investors a clearer sense of what kind of business Kuku Technologies is presenting as it heads toward the market.
