It’s so tiring to argue with both “AI can’t do anything” people and “AI is going to kill us all” people at the same time

Once again, another scary headline above an article that never gets around to telling us how, exactly, AI could "kill us all."

Note how the fear mongering and product focus is on fellow tech people. Rather than ordinary people, who apparently are doing proofs for the Fundamental Theorm of Calculus and doing math competitions.

So when you come across someone who says "It's likely that Ai will kill us all." or something similar, you can't know just from that statement if the person is talking about Ai as a conscious entity on its own OR Ai being used by humans (which we both already agree has some… Show more
