Apple CEO John Ternus reportedly keeps Thanksgiving week off for corporate employees

Apple CEO John Ternus is continuing a company tradition of giving corporate employees Thanksgiving week off, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports.

Gurman described the break as a practice that dates to the Steve Jobs era. The report is specifically about corporate employees. It does not establish that Apple's retail stores will close for the week, or that every worker receives the same schedule.

The decision is one of Ternus's first visible workplace moves since becoming chief executive. Apple announced in April that he would take over on September 1, with Tim Cook moving into the executive-chairman role after leading the company since 2011.

Apple framed that transition as the result of long-term succession planning. The Thanksgiving break, by contrast, is a continuation rather than a new policy direction: Ternus is reportedly keeping an established corporate perk in place for his first holiday season as CEO.
