Fable's implementation of Borges's Library of Babel, finished posthumously by Opus 4.8. Quite accurate to the story.

I asked Opus 4.6 in Claude Code to build me Borges's Library of Babel. An hour later it delivered this.
The AI implemented a Feistel cipher so each possible book has a real location, you can search for text across the Library & find the book.

the recursive choice to store the library's own code and real model weights inside it makes the infinite combinatorial space feel grounded rather than abstract
