OpenAI plans to limit weapons information ChatGPT gives teens

Reuters, published by Investing.com, reports that OpenAI will restrict practical information about weapons and security systems for teens, even without signs of violent intent. For all users, ChatGPT will be able to end chats when someone appears fixated on violence. OpenAI may temporarily pause accounts after multiple such chats. The company said the safeguards would begin rolling out in the weeks after October 30, 2026.
