there seems to be an implicit vibe in certain circles that "feeling the AGI" means being maximally anxious/millenarian - and if you're not, "you don't really get it." I don't think this is good or healthy. 'portentous' is a very fitting adjective.
Positive users agree anxious AGI mindsets are unhealthy since builders stay calm while theorists overthink, while negative users call those holding the views arrogant clowns or weirdos.
