The full talk has three parts. First, talking about the kitkat analogy on how AI fits in the current scientific processes, and then on agent4science, imagining new scientific processes with AI playing even bigger roles. It would be useful to think about an optimistic version of the library of the babel.
I have been arguing that as AI takes over routine production tasks, the role of scientists will shift towards selection and evaluation.
The burger view inspired by @random_walker and @sayashk is a good visualization on this. While working on a talk at TTIC today, I found an even better analogy, kitkat.
It illustrates two key points: 1. selection, production, evaluation are iterative and have more than three layers 2. selection and evaluation are the chocolate. The intelligence abundant world is analogous to a chocolate rich world, and we will have more delicious kitkats!
