Tinder rolls out Group Hangouts for friend groups to match and make plans

TechCrunch reports Tinder is rolling out Group Hangouts, a new feature that lets users choose an activity, invite at least two friends, and create a group that can appear in Tinder’s main card stack once it has three members. Groups can include up to 15 people, and if at least one person from each group likes the other, the groups are connected in a shared chat. Tinder says members can leave a conversation without leaving the friend group and can block or report another participant. TechCrunch frames the feature as part of Tinder’s broader move toward group-oriented and in-person dating tools, following Double Date and the company’s Events tab, as Tinder’s revenue and monthly active users have declined.
