AT&T Shifts to Open Source AI Models
AT&T VP Mark Austin says open-source models now run 40 percent of AI queries.
Amir Efrati posted that open source AI is happening and Anthropic and OpenAI should hope AT&T proves an exception. Gary Marcus replied with a link to the same Information article and the word IPOs. The article reports that Mark Austin disclosed open-source models already handle 40 percent of the company's AI queries for its 100,000 employees and that AT&T plans to raise that share to 60-70 percent.
