I've decided it's time to begin a process of personally archiving terabytes of floating point numbers for Reasons.
It looks like AWS glacier, with minimum storage duration of 180 days is $6/TiB plus >$90/TiB egress if I want to download it later.
Any better options?

Okay maybe I need to find room for fat spinning disks.
I just don't have a lot of space for hardware right now and slurping everything down over my wan link seems annoying.

@xlr8harder if you hit that egress charge you’ll wish you copped hard drives. probably pricier nowadays but I remember 12-14tb drives being cheaper than smaller/bigger ones a year or two ago

@xlr8harder Start with local HDDs for the bulk (you own the data). Use Wasabi or B2 as the offsite backup layer. Glacier only if you truly never plan to retrieve it.

@mov_axbx This bothers me aesthetically! I probably have room in my workstation though.
Not thrilled downloading over my wan link but it seems like the right tradeofff.
