Fever has raised $250 million in primary equity financing to expand its live-entertainment platform and event technology.
The company announced that EQT led the round, with Point72 Private Investments, Baillie Gifford and existing investors also participating.
Expansion beyond 55 countries
Fever operates a discovery and ticketing platform for concerts, exhibitions, sports and other cultural events. It says the new capital will support expansion beyond the 55 countries where it currently operates and deepen its presence across major entertainment categories.
The company also plans to invest in tools for promoters, venues, sports teams and cultural institutions. Those products use audience and ticketing data to help partners decide where to launch events, price inventory and reach potential customers.
The round is a growth bet on physical experiences
Fever presents the financing as a bet that in-person entertainment retains value even as more media and software become automated. The company calls it the largest financing raised by a live-entertainment technology business, a characterization attributed to Fever rather than an independently audited market record.
The investment gives Fever more capital to expand, but the size of the round does not by itself establish profitability or demand in every new market. Execution will depend on local event supply, consumer spending and whether its data tools improve results for partners as the platform scales.
