Cumulative x402 transactions on Base reportedly topped 138 million by Q3 2026

Fortune reports that Chainalysis counted more than 138 million cumulative x402 transactions on Base by Q3 2026, up from about 1,500 in mid-2025. The protocol lets bots pay for online services with crypto, using wallets that developers can fund with stablecoins. More than 87% of those payments were for less than 10 cents, according to the report, while the median time from a wallet’s first deposit to its first payment fell to 18 minutes.
