Musk Says 15GW of 2027 AI Compute Cannot Activate
Musk highlights infrastructure challenges beyond power for activating new AI systems.
In a post on X, Elon Musk stated that a consensus estimate shows roughly 15GW of AI compute produced in 2027 cannot be turned on that year. He explained activation requires building transformers, wiring, liquid-cooling, massive chillers and complex networking in addition to securing power. Research engineer Yacine retweeted the message.
