Thirty-five nations sign the Declaration on AI Opportunity to expand compute, semiconductor, and energy infrastructure

Weird to see this just as the administration is delaying a model for the second time in weeks, apparently without clarity about its criteria.

They can't hold Anthropic back and then not hold OpenAI back. That makes OpenAI either look like they're:

A. in cahoots with the government, which lots of people think because of Brockman

or B. incompetent compared to Anthropic, whose model was held back for "safety reasons" due to how powerful it was, while theirs apparently poses no apparent issue

This looks like a soft pause that the companies themselves are asking for. They want the government to give them the excuse they need because they're plateauing, and this hides that from the public.
