This govt agency’s will be used to ban Chinese models with very high probability. Today US citizens cannot purchase Chinese cars that are twice as good, way more creative and half in price. They would have solved part of the huge oil problem but instead they get banned because they would completely decimate dinosaur US car industry and fake jobs in unions. The end result is that people in US must pay exorbitant prices for a highly incompetent industry with little choice. This is what typically happens in 3rd world countries. They have industries that don’t make any progress and highly incompetent for decades and decades but enriching those people in govt agencies and people they protect from competition. This might be first steps towards regulatory capture of AI. This is sad.
