Sam Altman Calls AI Data Center Water Worries a Meme

Quartz reports that Sam Altman dismissed concerns over AI data center water consumption as a baseless meme. He stated that a modern large data center uses roughly as much water as an office building. The Quartz article notes that experts consider public data too limited to verify the claim. The report is based on Altman's comments and links to a close-up portrait of him. No independent confirmation of the water usage figure appears in the packet.
