We are wildly over-modeling a lot of AI work. Autocomplete. Extraction. Classification. Cleanup. Routing. Plenty of these jobs already work well with small models running on the computer you own. I’m showing what I’d actually use locally Friday at 10 AM PT.
A lot of AI products are overpowered. We keep spending frontier intelligence on jobs that mostly need to be fast, private, nearby, and good enough to run constantly. Friday at 10 AM PT, I’ll show you the jobs I’d already move onto the computer you own.
The next big AI surface is all the work too small to ask for. Finish six words. Fix one sentence. Extract one fact. Classify something when it arrives. Local models make those tiny jobs cheap and fast enough to disappear into the product. Friday at 10 AM PT.
Local AI should disappear into the software. @SamAsante and I built a new Mac app around that idea. Open it. The app handles the models for you, sets them up, and gives them a real job. You just use the product. Everyone at Local Models 101 gets early access Friday.
