@LeviBetz @ModalMotors They say they are. They say legacy design doesn’t optimize magnetic flux, so rare earth is needed. They say with optimized flux they can be more performant without rare earth. Big if true.

Just ran into Modal Motors. Non-rare earth electric motors for drones and robotics. Similar costs to Chinese motors, all U.S.-sourced. Incredible.
