Amazon's Alexa Home Map is getting a 3D redesign

The Verge reports Amazon is redesigning Alexa Home Map as a 3D view of indoor smart-home devices and outdoor activity shown through compatible Ring cameras. Users will be able to control devices from the map and rewind the last 24 hours across their cameras. Setting up the indoor layout requires scanning each room with an iPhone equipped with lidar or a structured-light sensor; Amazon says it is testing a video scanner for iOS and Android. A preview is planned for later in 2026.
