I wish there was a Tesla FSD "nice guy" mode where it let people merge in front of you, and didn’t wait till the last minute to merge into backed-up lane
Lenny Rachitsky, creator of Lenny's Newsletter, proposes a "nice guy" mode for Tesla FSD to increase driving courtesy
It would program the Tesla to let other cars merge.
Some users playfully endorse a polite 'Nice Guy' or 'Lenny' mode for Tesla FSD merges, while others reject it as inefficient or overly cautious and prefer aggressive driving instead.

@lennysan Taking the lane and merging at the end is the most efficient and effective way to drive. “Nice guy” mode is more like “frightened shrew” mode

@lennysan Normally, I am in chill mode.
One day, I accidentally scrolled to “Mad Max” mode. Oh my gosh. They should notify users ahead for this new feature.😂😂

@lennysan Probably better to just keep it a default consistent FSD behavior so that humans drives can adapt to autonomous cars.

@lennysan We’d be happy with just the standard version here, too.

@lennysan Done: it’ll be called Lenny Mode cc @aelluswamy

@lennysan Easily one of the biggest problems. Also not taking the passing lane if it’s going to take ten minutes to pass. I get super anxious with someone on my tail in the passing lane. Because I’m not an asshole

@lennysan Me too

@lennysan It is tough to dial in, I want to let people in but vice versa I want it to merge when needed

@lennysan On the contrary I want a “fuck everyone else that isn’t me” mode

@lennysan True

@lennysan Yes please!

@lennysan Need a way to just slow down a tiny bit without hitting brakes.
