@rgaudetteai @JoshDaws It’s a whole different kind of hard, with weird friction points, but you can’t hide with AI. There are no major budget or time constraints to undo you, and you get out what you put in.

AI filmmaking is not easy, in fact doing it has made me appreciate more of what geos into making a film, what i would say is that it lowers the barrier to entry in bringing ones vision to life, it does make it easier in a way but not in the way we think it is. i think the easy argument is mostly just a way of engagement farming and the hype, but i do think there is real potential and a lot of people are now able to tap into something that was not possible before
@rgaudetteai Spending the whole day on basically 2 scenes today! When everything in the image composition matters because of the story, you can't rely on random outcomes -- you'll carve the world, splinter by splinter.

AI filmmaking is a new way of making films, not a shortcut around the craft. In some areas, making something good is even harder than traditional filmmaking.

@rgaudetteai The only people saying it's Hollywood level are AI bros. As for easy, sure as fuck easier than making it for real. The only difficulty comes from the fact that AI is dogshit at making movies, so you have regenerate a bunch of times. Try filming the same thing.

We could very well land in a few years on it’s not cinema, and find a new word for it. I think the existence of AI will make traditional films better in that 1) a portion of audience will value trad film a lot more than they do now, 2) a prod co can have their directors make a private AI version first to see where the mistakes are before spending money (at least on the expensive sequences), and 3) everyone can practice, practice, practice like Pixar iterates. Even if you hate AI I think it brings tremendous upside for trad film.
