Gizmodo reports that the ACLU warns police are using AI-powered tools and license plate data to pull over drivers whose travel patterns are flagged as suspicious, even without suspicion of a specific crime. The ACLU describes a September 2025 stop in which an officer who identified himself as an FBI agent told a road-tripping driver her license plate had been flagged.
