🚨 SCOOP: Anthropic is gearing up for the public launch of a new version of Mythos, better than Mythos Preview.
A checkpoint of the model, codename Oceanus, was made available to red teamers yesterday. These programs typically begin 7 days before the wider launch, I am told.
The program has since been paused, presumably due to an individual in the program reselling it via a Chinese API proxy (as reported by @scaling01). But whether this will impact the launch target is unknown.

Mythos implies that we will also see the same from OpenAI - probably in Sep/Oct when GPT-6 is expected
pricing will be absurd again for these 10T models - best case $50 OAI, $75 Ant - worse case $100 OAI, $150 Ant
but with Vera Rubin these prices for 10T research models should be down to the usual $15 by the end of 2027

@scaling01 It will be doo doo, maybe as good as GPT 5.5 medium. Normies will gag on it though because people are genuinely stupid. They are calling Opus 4.8 better than GPT 5.5 when GPT is legit semi-AGI for coding, i don't even use github anymore i just raw dog prod. Anthropic is a cult

They have to be like desperately and quickly distilling this into a mythos mini right? We should be able to get 90% of Mythos performance for the cost of Opus or lower? Or am I way off
@scaling01 Feels realistic - something close to GPT Pro.
By the way, I constantly use GPT Pro myself for complex questions / research, and it feels noticeably better than both Opus and GPT-5.5 Thinking Heavy.
