Block announces Dessa, a full-duplex AI speech model

Jack Dorsey says Block created Dessa to make AI voice conversations feel more natural, with emotion, pauses and nuance. The Verge reports that Block shared demo chats, including one that sounded mostly natural but began with Dessa mistaking the speaker for someone named “Ronaldo.” Another video shows the model playing a guessing game by voice.
