OpenAI introduces Pro 500 as $200 Pro’s API-spend equivalent is set to halve
OpenAI says Pro 500 offers its highest usage limits and access to Ultrafast in Codex and ChatGPT Work. It also says the five-hour limit won’t return to the $200 plan.

On September 29, OpenAI said it would reopen $200 Pro subscriptions to new subscribers on September 30. Under a revised usage calculation, the plan would work out to half the old plan’s dollar value in API spend; OpenAI says it won’t bring back the five-hour limit. The company also introduced Pro 500, with usage limits it describes as its highest—25 times those of Plus—and access to Ultrafast in Codex and ChatGPT Work.
