Apple's next major iPhone anniversary could come with a modest increase in display size, if a new leak proves accurate. MacRumors reports that Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station has shared early specifications for what it calls the iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max, devices widely expected for 2027.
The claimed figures are a 6.41-inch display with a resolution of about 2,686 by 1,236 pixels for the smaller Pro, and a 6.96-inch, roughly 2,912-by-1,340 display for the larger model. MacRumors compares those numbers with 6.27-inch and 6.86-inch panels on the current iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The difference would be noticeable, but it would still be an incremental change rather than a new size class.
A larger screen without a lower pixel density
The reported resolution increases closely track the alleged physical growth. That would leave the phones at about the same 460-pixels-per-inch density as the current Pro models, according to MacRumors. The site notes that the measurements use a standard rectangle; the viewable area is smaller because phone displays have rounded corners.
The same report says Apple is testing a "borderless quad-curved" screen that curves away on all four sides. That fits earlier reporting on a 20th-anniversary iPhone designed to look more like an uninterrupted slab of glass, with the metal-frame bezel less visible in normal use. It also mentions rumored thinner, brighter OLED panels and under-display Face ID, while saying Apple may still be trying a smaller Dynamic-Island-style camera cutout instead.
The important qualifier
These are early claims about devices Apple has not announced. Even the iPhone 20 name and a September 2027 launch are expectations based on outside reporting, not confirmed product information. Display dimensions, camera placement, and the final design can all change during testing.
