Apple Voice Memo because it's default, works perfectly offline, iCloud sync and I'm not locked into a specific model or app. (I don't need the transcript immediately on my phone.)
General system works less well with other people in the car for obvious reasons.

@dwr I do the same. Change your action key on the iPhone to start a voice memo and you’ll have the lowest barrier idea capture setup.

@dwr interesting. do you keep the raw transcript too, or only the cleaned todos?
@dwr Have you tried the in car app for Grok? It stores it as a session like any other Grok session, and then can exported wherever you want. Slightly different use case I guess than just straight dictating.
I do the same. Beyond the actions / to-do's etc, it's resulted in a really interesting set of context.
I find myself riffing on random ideas, and the stream of consciousness has led to some interesting insights.
Have been feeding it into @honchodotdev, creating a representation of my current thoughts that I can insert in various workflows.

@dwr Nice. The neat thing about this is you realize that as long as the agent has all the relevant context it will do a great job.
A current challenge is wiring up that full context, but this is the really fun operational opportunity for any business... but especially startups.
Been doing a lot of these thought dumps while on walks and they’re really helpful
I use Wispr Flow and dump into my daily note in Obsidian which Hermes then processes: extracts todos, links ideas, enriches info, etc.
Highly recommend upgrading to one of the dictation apps since they’re faster and much more accurate (although I know you love stock iOS software)
