This is the reason why I also reduced the time and energy I spend on this app: no one sees my posts. I was about to start posting app tutorials, but I reasoned, why invest so much energy in a platform where you're invisible? Also, I wouldn't blame Nikita too much because the algorithm is driven by human emotions and wants. The vast majority of people aren't after educational posts but rather abrasive entertainment and slop. Unless you're going to tweak the algorithm to immediately downrank and deboost all slop content while prioritizing wholesome entertainment, intellectual and informative discourse, articles, videos, and similar content or else little will change. We will need to reprogram humanity's attention span to consume content beyond short-form brain rot and vacuous entertainment.
My feed Both for you and following Has completely devolved - even ‘customizing’ the for you by turning off videos and crypto etc- doesn’t seem to work… The scammers seem to be always 2 steps ahead of @nikitabier unfortunately I also suspect the video stats @nikitabier notes is bc of the metric of how something is considered viewed- video inherently slows down scrolling— so it gets credit for being viewed ahead of short, but good original content
