Claude Code Adds Cross-Session Messaging Feature
Anthropic update lets separate coding sessions exchange task summaries directly.
Posts quote a ClaudeDevs announcement that Anthropic added inter-session messaging to Claude Code. One session can now send a concise task summary to another so the receiving session resumes work without manual re-explanation of prior steps. Users including Seth Lazar, Judd Rosenblatt, Danielle Fong, and Xing Han Lu shared reactions to the change. One post notes the feature resembles an earlier open-source agent-talk project. Visible replies treat the update as removing the need for separate handoff tools.
New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other. Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.
