There were a couple of years while I was in high school that I wanted to become a mathematician. I ended up changing my mind when I saw how many mathematicians would spend their whole career and never solve any of these major theories. Recently, AI and the achievements that people are doing in the field of mathematics with it have made me, for the first time in my life, second-guess my decision.
This is hilarious. People have been calling AI a slop machine with no real discoveries. Meanwhile, humanity has been shipping slop in code, mathematics, physics and engineering for millennia. Society is running on fucking duct tape and they have the audacity to oppose tech that’s solved open mathematical problems at its infancy stage.
