Are we in a foxhole getting bombed? As long as physics allows acceleration, we should at the very least be probing and researching everything that doesn't pose severe ethical issues like brain organoids/human cloning/rewriting DNA. I will always be able to fight against oppression, and there's no way I'll ever be on the wrong side of any evolutionary process(it would go against everything I have fought through to give up bc a bunch of people decided we have to slow down science). I can be incorrect and am frequently but I can easily correct my view and adjust to keep acceleration going while continuing to focus on conservation. im afraid there are a bunch of people who simply refuse to listen to people or make the actual attempt to see things from all sides(a constant for me when preparing for any conversation about any topic) more than I am about anything. Error correcting to be on the right side isn't always malicious, and giving people the opportunity to grow is a basic respect expected from anyone participating in society.
@tszzl the 'effective' part has always been sus because that's utilitarian. there are no brakes on this train its a crazy train without brakes also, the ride never ends it was never about utility or efficacy. it's speedrunning towards chaos with faith in God. many forget
@tszzl “Past a certain point, being an e/acc stops meaning ‘accelerate everything’ and starts meaning ‘accelerate until it threatens me.’”
@tszzl if you're e/acc but not dooming, you're clearly not e/accing hard enough
@beffjezos I am willing to die for e/acc.
e/acc is the believe that every bit of information must ruthlessly fight for its persistence, and that the byproducts of this existential fight of bits are life, intelligence, complexity, and beauty. May the most accelerating bytes win, as they always asymptotically do.
supposed “e/acc”s are only ever so until they are on the losing side of any given evolutionary process. there are neither atheists nor e/accs in foxholes

@tszzl there are some who seem pretty excited about being replaced
