A tech user showed non-technical friends how Codex builds custom apps but received blank stares.

The original post by @liljuuliet described showing Codex to normie friends and noting they did not care about making whatever they want. Replies from @connordinnadge and @cipherstein observed that such users like image generation but show no interest in building or coding. @seconds_0 added that most people do not want to make things. @FarouqAldori described helping a brother fix a corrupted 3DS SD card with Codex, after which the brother began using it regularly. @GarrettPetersen suggested the friends may have assumed programming already worked that way.

@liljuuliet @yacineMTB I had the same experience… they love image gen, but none of them are interested in building anything or experimenting with what these models are capable of 😔

If you want your friends and family to use codex you gotta solve a problem that's relevant to them for example, I helped my younger brother repair his corrupted 3DS SD card with codex, he literally called it "jarvis" since then, he's been using it for quite a lot of things
